With over four decades of experience in international law, financial services, and private client advisory, Benedict Popo serves as Private Client Director at Acumum – Advisory. He has been pivotal in managing complex legal and financial matters for high-net-worth individuals, specializing in estate planning, compliance, and wealth management.

Benedict’s career includes key leadership roles across Africa and Europe. He was the Advisory Partner for West Africa at Claridge Capital Partners LLP, where he focused on ‘Special Situations’ and emerging markets. His prior roles at Henley & Partners, Barclays, and HSBC further solidified his expertise in wealth management and private banking, where he managed portfolios and provided tailored financial strategies.

Benedict briefly served as Deputy Commissioner at the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission, looking into setting up a west african liaison office for corporate services and financial services. He also played a role as Regional Director for Innovate in Britain, helping attract global innovators to the UK under the Innovator Visa scheme.

Benedict holds an LL.B (Hons) in Law from the University of Lagos and completed advanced studies in Capital Market Risk & Compliance at Henley Business School.
